NWVC'S Third Annual VW Spring Cruise-In and Cruise-Out

Saturday, May 10, 2003

Thanks go to Brian Zuhse for planning our spring cruise-in and cruise-out. Rick W. and co-pilot Brian did an excellent job of leading our cruise. We met at JD's Family Restaurant in Appleton. Some of us had a snack or ice cream or both. After some VW talk inside and outside. Several members lined up for a cruise through Appleton. We went through the neighborhood with a new million dollar house that was just built. The folks who were outside waved. Many cars passing in the other lane gave us thumbs ups and peace signs. It was great. The weather held for us until we reached the Cruise In Diner (formerly the Starlite Diner of Appleton) in Kaukauna. Then the clouds rolled in. The Cruise In Diner was the diner that our club met at for our first official meeting when it was in Appleton. It was moved about a year ago to Kaukauna across from the Van Dyn Hoven dealership just off of Hwy 41. Some of the topless Dubs decided to head for home before the rain and scattered hail moved in. A few stayed at the Cruise In Diner to enjoy more food and fellowship. Thanks to everyone for taking time out from their busy schedules to join us and promote our club.
